When my son had his first child, there was already a “Grammy” (his wife’s mother). We talked about what to call me and I wanted something different enough it wouldn’t confuse the kidlets. After much discussion, we settled on “Meemaw.” It’s a midwestern/southern name for Grandma.
So Meemaw it is. I’m Meemaw to five grandchildren. My daughter has three kids (she’s done) and my son now has two (there’s talk of another).
I live on 10 acres out in the boonies in Washington state with my sweetie of 34 years. There are five households on the land, extended family and friends. It’s a delightful community.
You will also see the occasional post from Willow, my pet rabbit. She’s quite adventurous with two escapes already!
